Before we left for the mountains Saturday, I got up and ran 3 miles. It was nice. It was easy. Then I did 50 girl push ups. WOA! Have I been sore since then! We got to Flat Rock, NC around 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
Our hotel was super cool back in 1974 when the Brady Bunch stayed there.
The wedding was fab, overlooking the mountains.
The bride was gaawwrgeous.
The reception was lovely. (The bride + groom are now enjoying St. Lucia!)
I drank a lot and had fun with Matt and my co-workers! Sorry, no pics of us :(
We spent Sunday in Hendersonville, NC and ate brunch at a Beatles themed restaurant!
Mean Mr. Mustard Cafe was amaazzing. Matt didn't know the song so I had to play it for him on the way there. Then we heard two different Beatles songs on the radio so I knew it was fate.
Matt got the French Toast Cordon Bleu! I just got some boring eggs and fruit. No fun for picture, but was really good.
Cute S & P shakers.
Perdy flowers.
The town had lots o' apples.
And I got to embrace my hippie side for a day. Life was good!
Exciting News!
So what do you guys think about a Running Bloggers Conference??? @antorias and I have been tweeting about it since Friday, and are furiously brainstorming/planning ways to make this happen! We are thinking early 2010, possibly attached to a race, possibly in Vegas?! But we're open to ideas + suggestions + help + sponsorship (we already have one sponsor on board)!
There are hundreds of us running bloggers out there, so this would be a great way to meet up, maybe run a 'lil, and have some fun!
I think this is the best idea I have come up with in, well, probably forever.
So we need your help. Ideas. Thoughts. Concerns. Whatever! We want to make this happen!
Follow the RunBloggerCon on Twitter!
What would you want to see in the First Annual Running Bloggers Conference? What would make YOU come?
Yay for Hendersonville! If you really want to get in touch with your inner hippie, you must come to downtown Asheville on a Friday night :) Join the drum circle at Pritchard Park! And Hendersonville is home of the official NC Apple Festival. If you can ever get up here in the fall, you wouldn't be disappointed!
ReplyDeleteI hope the couple is staying at a Sandals Resort in St. Lucia.
ReplyDeleteThat french toast looks yummy.
Funny: I went to a wedding this weekend. I had french toast (with bananas & syrup) this weekend. ;)
Wow looks like an awesome weekend was had! Jealous of the Beatles themed restaurant for sure. I'd definitely be interested in a Running Bloggers Conference.....of course pending no other prior obligations!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had such a great time in the mountains. I love the Asheville, Hendersonville area. It's such a different piece of the world.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, looks like a fab weekend. I think a Running Bloggers Conference (RBC) sounds like an AWESOME idea!!!!! I would love the chance to meet up with lots of peeps in person, and run and socialize together. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly--I am full just looking at that french toast cordon bleu.
ReplyDeleteI hope you ganked those salt and pepper shakers!! Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteI am all for a running bloggers conference, depending on where it's at! :) I'm a poor girl. But I'm following the group on Twitter (I'm @amyschoenfeld) to get more updates.
What a great idea about a Running Bloggers Conference! I'd definitely be interested in it depending on the location, I'm about to start back to school full time so I'm gonna be poor:(
ReplyDeleteI tried to organize one of these myself =). San Diego sorta turned into a blogger meetup. Unfortunately, the RnR Vegas won't work for me but I'd be open for something in 2011. We're trying to lay low in 2010 on travel expenses, other than vacations that our families are paying for =).
ReplyDeleteP.S. 50 pushups, girl or no-girl, is amazing! I'm trying to get on the push up train again. They are so effective and you can do them anywhere, maybe I'll bust some out in my office---JK!
It would also depend where the blogger conference was for me too. If it was within driving distance, I'd definitely consider going. But other than that, I feel like I don't really know enough bloggers to be comfortable traveling somewhere far.
ReplyDeleteOHHH I am almost convinced to go to the Vegas race anyways, so I would totally be there!!
ReplyDeletesooo fun! if its the vegas marathon on dec 6th i am doing CIM already that day... but definitely looking forward to the details you post!
ReplyDeleteI'm not on twitter but I'll certainly follow along here and look for updates!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I could convince the fiance to go along with "I'm just going to go to Vegas to hang out with a bunch of people I haven't met, but I know it'll be a fun time!" I'd def be interested, but I don't know how likely it'd be :(
ReplyDeleteWe can have a big blogger meet up for MCM though!
What a pretty wedding!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a running bloggers conference...that would be so much fun! I'd love to help in any way I can!
