Dessert Fundraiser this Saturday in Charlotte, NC Area!

Hey y'all! Just a quick update for anybody out there in the Ft. Mill, SC/Charlotte, NC area!

I'm holding another dessert night fundraiser this Saturday, July 25th from 7 to 9PM at my mom's house in Fort Mill, SC. She lives about 15 minutes outside of Charlotte so it's pretty close for any of y'all in the 704 area!

We're gonna have all you can eat desserts, coffee, Bailey's (yum) and hopefully some wine if I can get it donated, in exchange for donations.

I raised about $500 at my last dessert night for my Team in Training fundraising campaign and I'm hoping to shatter that number with the help of my mom at this event!

If you're in the area I would love to meet you! We're going to have plenty of desserts and some fun giveaways as well :) I've got a few "marathon inspired" donations from local companies so far that I'm either going to auction or raffle off...you gotta stop by to see what they are!

If you wanna indulge, shoot me an email for the deets: ChasRunner at gmail dot com

Have a fab Monday!

Dessert & Coffee to Cure Cancer

I completely stole this picture online. But I will be making my mama's blueberry pound cake, never you fear.

What: All-you-can-eat dessert & coffee charity social

When:
Next Thursday, June 25th from 7 to 9 PM

Where: My place! Downtown Charleston (with all the parking you can imagine.)

Why: To raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program!

I know many of you who read this blog are not in Charleston. But some of you are. And I would love to meet you and take your money. Just kidding! :) But, seriously. I need donations. I'm over $500 but not anywhere near $3,500 yet!

So a few co-workers and I will be baking up some cakes, pies, cookies, etc etc and will be serving them at my (lovely but small) apartment downtown with some coffee (and possibly some Kahlua and whipped cream...any takers?) and socializing!

Feel free to drop by anytime between 7 and 9 PM. If you wanna eat, you gotta donate! Whatever you feel comfortable with donating, I'm not going to put a minimum number. But if I had to, it would be at least $10. It's ALL YOU CAN EAT SWEETS people. And it's not any of my "healthy" desserts either, there will be multiple pounds of butter and white sugar in my kitchen next week. (And peanut butter...just sayin')

I'm obvi not going to put my home address online since I am sure I have at least two stalkers out there, but if you want to come, email me or twitta me!

Can't come? Live in California or Oregon or Florida and wish you could? I will send *sweet* thoughts your way if you click here and donate anyways...love you :)

**Updated to add: Cupcakes have so graciously been donated by Cupcake on King Street!**

Want some dessert?

Ok guys, I know there are a few of you in the Charleston area who lurk around here without commenting...that's okay! I love you all. But I just opened a poll question on the right side of the blog and I want your input!

I am considering putting together an "All You Can Eat" Dessert & Coffee Night at my apartment building downtown to help raise money for my Team in Training campaign. In order to gauge interest for this event, I opened up a poll to see what you all think.

It's quick, and it's easy. Best of all its anonymous so all you lurkers can vote without having to actually comment! :) So please help me out here!

If I feel like this event will be a success, I might ask you guys to help me with other details for the night. But I think it would be so fun and could be pretty successful for my campaign. I would probably hold it on a Thursday evening, after work hours. I would collect a ton of goodies from my own kitchen, co-workers and friends who would willingly donate some sugary treats for this cause. Then I would charge a "cover fee" per plate with a minimum donation of some amount.

But hey, if you want to donate $10 or so now, I wouldn't be mad! If everyone who visited this blog gave $10 today I would have...well, not a whole lot, but more than I have now! ;)

Also you guys should check out my fundraising page, I added a bit about the little boy who I will be running for! How can you say no to that grin?

I'm hoping to meet up with a new Twitter/blog/Wild West Relay team member Shannon tonight after work to run the bridge, which is about 5-6 miles round trip from my work. I haven't ran it in a while, plus I'm sure it will be hot and muggy so I hope Shannon isn't mad when I'm slowing her down :)

Then I'm meeting up with my pal Sandy for some Bride Wars and dinner! Love me some girls night. See y'all later!
